What is an Air Fryer?

An air fryer is simply a small convection oven designed mainly to simulate deep-frying without submerging the food into super-hot oil. It has a fan that blows heated air over the food, causing browning effects similar to that of the classic Maillard reaction. Because it does not use any type of fuel or open flame to produce heat, an Air Fryer can be used as much as you like, day or night, without worrying about a fuel shortage or power cut. It also requires virtually no maintenance beyond occasional lubricating to keep the fan and cooking surfaces aligned and free of scuff marks.
